Uncorrected machine reading. This text was read by machine (Apple Vision OCR) from a scan of a newspaper page, and the page was cut into articles by machine, at the headlines found by their type size. Nothing has been corrected: expect misread words, text from a neighbouring article, and titles that are the machine reading of the headline, some of them only fragments. Quote from the scan, not from this page.
How this article was cut and titled: headline found by type size in the OCR geometry (split_tabloid.py); 7-7 of 7; machine-segmented newspaper page; uncorrected Vision OCR.

By R. Brooks BR has put a temporary stop to freight traffic from the continent because Sealink, now private subsidiary company. has got enough ferries to transport wag gons from Zeebrugge in Belgium.

Sealink got rid of three ships Harwich/Zeebrugge service, leaving which does one round trip a day.

So anyone WIIO thinks leads efficiency should think again.

Freight losses were halved in 1981 with a small increase in tne amount o. freight carried. Four new rail heads have recently been built at factories and according to BR, business nasmade surge forward this year.

But whilst the Tories' main priority profits, rather than building an integrated transport service, freight, like everything else in rail will continue to b subject to the whims 'productivity' and 'efficiency' measures short term gains for their friends in the city and long-term chaos system as a whole.

workers were killed at work. 7 were killed on or near the track, 2 of them being hit by trains lookout staff. This number is double that of a similar period last year. Statistically, working on the railways is one of the most dangerous jobs you can have. This is not reflected in the low wages earned by 'permanent way' workers (track workers).
