This is HOL unease Neither politically nor musicallv are Ine jam in the rut of banality. Time and again stress is laid on the need for practical, well thought out political activity to be added to the current feelings of youth anger they existed in last sumuCT STIOLS - - and still exist in Thatcher's Britain today.

The Jam recently played for the Right Work campaign during the Lobby Parliament to complain about YOPs. They also played for CND on last year's huge demonstration London. They will also play when Reagan arrives position to his being here.

The real political significance of The Jam is that they are not seen by thousands of youth who follow them as par ticularly political. The fact that they sing about and support campaigns against the threat of nuclear wars the ravages of unemployment, the base stupidities and fascism, indicates that whole generation of youth becoming acutely aware of these problems and the need to do something positive about them.

At the risk of turning The Jam into a political Trans Global does sum it up:

'Get this trans-global caress movies and see our marvellous leaders quiver they know that if it happens eras are over the day the working people om toreten we'll all rest much more tus, the responsibility you must bear when it's your future in your hands maybe a hard one to face up to but at least you will own yourself!'
