Berks. • SINCE October, 96 workers at the Chix sweet factory in Slough have been on strike for union recognition. When they joined the General and Municipal Workers' Union last year, the Chix workers found that the management refused to listen to their demands for better pay and conditions. A mass picket was held on 17 January, which was attended by two hundred local militants. They did not manage to stop the bus carrying scab workers getting Further mass pickets will be held.
